Mosart Summit in Bergen

'Three times, and it's a tradition', according to Mosart product architect, Mads Grønbæk

So this year the... well, traditional Mosart Summit went to the home town of Mosart, Bergen. And the summit has only grown since the first one in Copenhagen in 2009 and the second one in Berlin last year.

Over 60 participants from all over Europe went to Norway's second largest city to discuss Mosart and exchange ideas.

Manager of BBC TV News' production and technology, Ken Connell, told about the British broadcaster's plan to move to another site and the plans to introduce new technology like Mosart. BBC has now bought seven Mosart installations, four in London and three in Manchester.

And Mosart presented the new user interface, optimized for touch screens. The design has changed quite a lot, and there can now be an unlimited number of shortcuts without remembering a directtake number. It'll just be a button on the touchscreen. More about it here.

The summit ended on a sailing ship, but apparently the organizers didn't coordinate it with the meteorologists. Over 200 days a year it is raining in Bergen, and May 23rd was no exception. The weather was cold and so was the food - oh, and the beers, by the way.

And since it's now a tradition: See you next year - maybe in Manchester?
